Assisted Reproduction Counselling

Here in Victoria, it’s a legal requirement that anyone undergoing fertility treatment such as IUI or IVF/ICSI, receives suitable counselling beforehand. Our team goes above and beyond this statutory requirement, transforming fertility counselling into a more beneficial and valuable exercise. We’ll work with you at the start of your fertility journey to ensure that you know what to expect from the process, and to support you emotionally.

IVF Support

Support Counselling

Going through IVF can be challenging, physically and emotionally. You may feel anxious or stressed about whether or not you’ll have a successful outcome. You may need support after experiencing a failed cycle. Even achieving pregnancy can come with doubts and fears. If you think you may benefit from counselling, let our team support you through this process.

Ongoing Counselling

Our fertility team will discuss with you anything you may feel concerned about during your fertility journey and pregnancy. You can share your thoughts and feelings in a safe, welcoming, inclusive, non-judgemental space. We may recommend some exercises or strategies to help you acknowledge and manage your feelings, especially at challenging times.

Your Journey

Every journey begins with a chat.

We’re here to listen and offer support tailored to the needs of our patients. After your initial implications counselling session, which you are required to attend with your partner, you may choose to attend further sessions. You may attend a single session, or you might set up a few regular appointments. You can attend subsequent sessions alone, or with your partner if you want to discuss your feelings about your fertility journey together.

Exactly what your session will look like will largely depend on your needs and situation. However, we may cover the following:

  • Preparing for treatment
  • Relationships, partnerships, families and friendships
  • Successful/unsuccessful treatment cycle
