Our Mission
Our mission here at Thrive Fertility is to make IVF more accessible to those who need it.
A big part of achieving that is being able to reduce the cost of fertility treatment as much as we can, without compromising on the quality of care that we offer to our patients and their families.
As part of our commitment to affordable IVF, we take a straightforward, transparent approach to pricing. With us, there are no hidden costs. We strive to be clear and upfront about our fees right from the beginning. You’ll know exactly what to expect from each stage of your journey with us.
Fee Structure
At Thrive Fertility we are committed to provide affordable, accessible and advanced fertility treatment. Our purpose-built state-of-the-art clinic uses the Embryoscope time-lapse system, RI Witness and Embryoglue as standard for all IVF/ICSI treatment cycles. Our clinic is located at the Northern Private Hospital (Ramsay Health) and all surgical procedures are performed within the hospital’s modern operating theatres.
The treatment cycle fee includes:
- cycle management by our team of professionals;
- in cycle blood tests and follicle tracking ultrasound scans;
- all laboratory work and updates by our embryologists;
- egg retrievals and embryo transfers performed by our fertility specialists.
Our fee structure is transparent so that you can make cost-clever decisions to access fertility treatment. Our patient services team will take the time to explain all treatment costs to you, ensure that you meet the requirements for fertility treatment and receive any Medicare rebates that you are entitled to.
At Thrive Fertility you will need to pay for out-of-pocket expenses at different stages of the treatment process. You will need to pay for planning & management at the start of treatment; while egg retrieval and embryo transfer fees are due 2 days before the procedure. Once the cycle is completed, a receipt is sent to Medicare, so the appropriate rebate can be processed. The full cost of the treatment cycle less the Medicare rebate represents your final ‘out-of-pocket’ cost. You will need to ensure that your bank account details are registered with Medicare in order for your rebate to be deposited into your nominated bank account.

*Additional Costs
You will require medication during your fertility treatment cycle. All medications must be dispensed by a pharmacist and collected from the pharmacy directly.
If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate for your treatment cycle, you will have to pay a co-payment of approximately $40 per prescription. Typically, 4–5 prescriptions are required for an IVF/ICSI treatment cycle and 0–2 prescriptions for a frozen embryo transfer cycle (so total medication cost is usually $200-$400). However, if you require additional medications, these may not be covered by Medicare.
For those patients paying for their treatment privately, all medications will need to be paid for in full. The pharmacy will inform you of the amount you need to pay per prescription.
All surgical procedures (e.g. egg collection, testicular biopsy for sperm extraction) are performed on-site at the Northern Private Hospital (Ramsay Health). Surgical procedures require an anaesthetic and, therefore, an anaesthetist. Your day admission fees are not covered by Medicare.
If you have private health insurance, your insurer may cover the day admission and anaesthetist fees. If you do not have private health insurance, you will need to pay a co-payment for your hospital admission.
Medicare provides assistance to Australian residents undergoing fertility treatment.
To receive a rebate from Medicare for fertility treatment, you are required to have a valid referral from the day before their treatment cycle begins until it ends. We recommend obtaining a referral from your GP, as these referrals are valid for 12 months. If your referral is from a specialist, it is only valid for 3 months.
