Care for you and your baby at every stage of your pregnancy

THRIVE FERTILITY – WHAT IS PREGNANCY CARE?

What is Pregnancy Care?

We consider every pregnancy precious and believe that pregnant women require specialist care and support during their pregnancy. We also believe that pregnancy care is especially important for women who have been through fertility treatment to conceive.

Our team at Thrive Fertility understands your personal journey to conceive and the unique needs of your pregnancy.

Our approach is to provide proactive screening & monitoring, expert guidance, and personalised care that’s tailored to your individual needs, delivered by our trusted team of obstetricians. We’ll keep a close eye on your health and your baby’s development, offer recommendations at different stages of your pregnancy and answer any questions that you may have, including your preferences around labour and delivery.

While we are able to offer private obstetrician-led pregnancy care at the Northern Private Hospital, we also support GP shared-care and work with the public sector. We are able to arrange seamless referrals to either, as appropriate.

Who is Obstetrician-led Pregnancy Care For?

We recommend private obstetrician-led pregnancy care for those who…

This is a team that knows them, understands their preferences, and is familiar with their needs.

Our team of specialists are experienced professionals who know when to intervene if circumstances require.

High-risk Pregnancy Care

There are many potential reasons why a pregnancy may be considered “high-risk”. You could have a pre-existing medical or surgical condition, or require specialised medical management following fertility treatment. Some women experience early cervical shortening; sometimes conditions such as gestational diabetes or hypertension develop during pregnancy. Whatever your concern, we will provide the appropriate level of support.

At Thrive Fertility our goal is to minimise and manage any risks and to work towards the best possible outcome for you and your baby. You will have the same experienced obstetrician and team of dedicated midwives and nurses looking after you during your pregnancy. If you require specialist medical input, that can be provided too.

High-risk pregnancy care solutions are designed to ensure you and your baby are given the level of support necessary to reduce any risk as much as possible. We can adapt your pregnancy care plan to your needs, providing additional checks or ultrasound scans beyond the routine milestones in pregnancy.

Fetal Development

Ultrasound scans are a quick and simple way to keep track of your baby’s development, and reassure us that everything is progressing as anticipated. At Thrive Fertility, we have access to in-house ultrasonographers that can monitor your pregnancy. We typically recommend an initial scan to confirm pregnancy at 7-8 weeks, a 12-week nuchal translucency (NT) scan to look at the health of your baby, and a foetal anatomy scan at 20 weeks, as well as growth scans to monitor fetal development.

Your Journey

Every pregnancy is different. Your pregnancy care journey with Thrive Fertility will be tailored to your needs and preferences. We’ll give you the support you need, when you need it. As part of your journey, we organise routine tests & pregnancy ultrasounds, and provide interpretation of your results, all within our practice. By offering comprehensive care within our practice, we aim to make this care as convenient as possible.

Some women with a healthy, low-risk, and uncomplicated pregnancy may only need to be seen by our team at routine pregnancy milestones. Whatever your needs, we are flexible and can make a plan that works for you. We’ll discuss your journey with you once we understand more about your pregnancy. And we’ll always adapt and amend your journey should your health – or your baby’s health – change along the way.
