There are several common conditions that can impact your reproductive system and your chances of conceiving.

We can help make a diagnosis and provide treatment options for conditions like PCOS, endometriosis or adenomyosis, fibroids, polyps and PID.

Treatment options can include lifestyle interventions, medical or surgical management, or fertility treatment, depending on your particular needs and priorities.

Once we understand more about your circumstances, we will be able to discuss a proposed course of action with you. Jean Hailes has excellent information on PCOS & endometriosis.

Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery can form part of the evaluation of unexplained infertility, recurrent implantation failure or persistent pelvic pain.

Sometimes surgery is required to remove endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts or fluid within the fallopian tubes. Whether you require surgery to make a diagnosis, alleviate pelvic pain, or optimise your chances of conceiving, our team includes skilled advanced laparoscopic surgeons.

Advanced laparoscopic surgery can require input from surgeons experienced in operating on the bladder or bowel. Surgery can cause scarring or loss of ovarian tissue, impacting your fertility. The team at Thrive Fertility understand your fertility needs and will work collaboratively with general surgeons to achieve the best outcomes for you. The surgeons at Thrive Fertility will also prioritise your ovarian reserve when making surgical plans with you.

It’s important for all women and men to attend regular check-ups to ensure their reproductive system remains healthy. There are some conditions which do not present with symptoms early on, but can be diagnosed through regular monitoring and examination (such as cervical screening tests and STI screening).

Women planning to conceive should have health checks to make sure that they have no health concerns. This includes checking vaccines are up to date, nutrients and iron stores are replete, and medication is rationalised and safe for pregnancy. Couples planning to conceive may also consider prenatal genetic testing. We find that many women feel more empowered and enjoy greater peace of mind when they prioritise themselves, and take a proactive approach to their reproductive health and wellbeing.

What to expect

At Thrive Fertility we will begin by taking a thorough history, reviewing any prior investigations, and suggesting further investigations that may be required. We will work with you to understand your specific needs and determine a personalised plan. We may be able to provide lifestyle modifications, or suggest medical care or surgical management. The plan will be formulated in collaboration with our experienced OBGYNs, always with your reproductive health and fertility in mind.
